Chem 100L Lab students: No lab President's Day week. Check your email for an optional assignment. Part 1 is due on 2/15 at 8:00 am. See below for a list of available elements.

2/7/2010 2/9/2010

Chem 100 Lecture students: We are covering Chapter 2 this week. Please start reading it as soon as possible.

Chem 100L Lab students: Experiment 2 this week. ( Activity 3 postponed to a later date).

1/30/2010 2/7/2010

Chem 100 students (LECTURE): No homework due on Monday, but you should be reading Chapter 1 and trying the problems at the end of the chapter (in addition to the problems that I have suggested previously. You can also try those the problems on the list of Discussion Questions that I passed out in class on Wednesday.

Now's the time to learn how to do these conversion probems, so please ask questions, so you don't get behind.

1/26/2010 1/30/2010 Chem 100 Students: Check your email for a homework assignment due on Wednesday. If you didn't get my email, I don't have your correct address, so please send me an email so I can send the HW assignment to your correct address.
1/24/2010 2/7/2010

If I give you an add code, I recommend that you actually add the course BEFORE the add deadline of February 5th. In fact, if you don't add by then, you're out, and I can't help you get back into the course.

12/28/2009 1/26/2010

Welcome to Fundamentals of Chemistry

Our lecture meets on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:00 am.

If at all possible, you should sign up for one of my Chem 100L lab sections. They meet on M or W at 9:35 am, right after class. If you're in a different lab section, then it's more likely that the lecture and labs will be out of synch, and any references to the labs that I make in lecture (or references to the lecture that I make in lab) would have less relevance and less benefit toward your learning. One of the lab sections (Wed morning) is wide open at this writing (12/28) and you could easily transfer into it if it fits your schedule. Good luck.

I look forward to meeting you soon
