Exam/Quiz Rules
Rules for quizzes and exams are always the same:
- All papers, books, and backpacks on the floor. Nothing on your desk or table except your quiz, calculator, pen or pencil, and
eraser. Water bottles or drinks are okay too.
- Take the back sleeve off of your calculator and put it away.
- Sit at separate tables, if possible.
- No book.
No notes of any form.
No scratch paper.
No computer or internet access.
No cell phones, iPods, or similar devices.
- You may not wear a hat, hood, headphones, or sunglasses.
- Calculator is allowed, but not if it can accept text entry.
- That is, if the
calculator keys or the spaces next to the keys have the letters A through Z
printed on them, so that the user can enter text, then the calculator is not
permitted to be used. It does not matter if you have programs loaded on the
computer or not. A regular scientific calculator, where the user can enter and
manipulate numbers, is allowed. Recommended calculator is the TI-30A or TI-30XA (solar).
- If you allow another student to look at your paper during a quiz or exam, you will receive a maximum score of zero. See "Grades" link (above) for additional details on plagiarism.
- I will be walking around the classroom during your quizzes and exams so that you may ask me questions to clarify anything, if necessary. I'll try to be as quiet as possible.
